cosa verde: think big, shop small

As of Sunday, UrbanPosture is on Cosa Verde. It's an awesome little website gear toward small eco-friendly shops/artist. In their own words: "Cosa Verde is a new marketplace connecting independent and emerging artists with environmentally-conscious consumers." We really liked the sound of that and also the fact that they donate 10% of our fees to the charity of our choice. Oh, and they planted ten trees for opening a store with them...I like trees!!

We are limiting our merchandise to office goods for now, but hope to expand eventually. Of course, our full line is available on Etsy. Our very own UrbanPosture website is in the works too, but not quite ready yet...there's a lot coming up for us in the next few weeks!

Kitchen Update - Week 10

Our kitchen is coming along nicely. As a matter of fact, the counter tops are being installed on Monday and you know what that means...plumbing!! Finally, we'll have running water again. That will be so nice! We are hoping to have our kitchen finished my the end of the month. I'll post more pictures when it's all done. I can hardly wait to have friends and family over for a nice dinner!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

I decided to make my dad a card this year for Father's Day. (I feel like I'm 5 again.) I used some left over toe-kick, had my installer, Lamont, cut it to size, and block printed a deer on it. I chose the wood to make it a little more maculine and the deer...well, mostly because I already had that block carved and ready to go and also because I wanted to write 'deer dad' on it. I also remade a few other cards just for the fun of it.

I mailed the wood card to my dad last week to insure it would make it to Frankfurt on time...I hope he like it!

Neutral Living

Color is obviously a huge part in the design world, but there is something very beautiful and intriguing about the lack of color. Texture and shape become vital. I find it very classy and calming.

Market Day Follow-up

UrbanPosture had the great opportunity to participate in Market Day, hosted by MSMF. We had loads of fun, met some great new people and were inspired by all the cool stuff! I can't wait for our next go, which will have to wait until the end of July. I'll keep you posted!

We added some seating / 'front counter' to our set-up - otherwise our display stayed the same. It was so nice not to have to stand for 8 hours, like Craft Saturday. The cupcake people set up right across from us - so lucky for us! And little miss Chimes was to our right - sweet girl with lovely handmade goods! Check them out here.

The coasters were a hit again. We also added a new shirt design to our collection for this event. Gotta love the birchtrees!! Huge THANK YOU to all who organized, participated and supported this event!
