Overlays

Quite genius actually. These pieces by Danika Cheryle are a great way to jazz up an old piece of furniture or boring wall. Amy came across these the other day at work (I know, but it was Friday!!). I'm going to find just the right piece to use these on. To be continued...

Craft Saturday Follow-up

I know, I know...it's been two week again, since my last post. But there have been A LOT of things going on in my life and not just day job stuff. I'll let you in on my secret soon.

For now, I just wanted to share my finds from Craft Saturday:

Meet my little orange owl! I picked him up from Branch Accessories! Darling shop out of Bemidji, Minnesota. I wanted one of everything she had!

Also, meet June Craft out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I love her vintage style and her attention to kid-safe ink on her fabric items. I still need to find a good spot in my little house for this lovely print!

And finally, I wanted to introduce UrbanPosture's newest veneer card...I really like the color!

Have a good weekend!

schubLaden

I found this a amazing salvage art/home decor and must share it. Franziska Wodicka creates new furniture with old drawers ready for sale and custom-made and calls her line schubLaden, which is german for 'drawers'. The shop is naturally located in Germany, but more specifically, Berlin. I think it's brilliant!

H&M for your home

I was just getting caught up on Apartment Therapy and I ran across this post. The Swedish apparel company, H&M (Henne & Mauritz) was my favorite store growing up Austria and is still in my top 5. It's just a little more difficult to maintain my infatuation living here in Iowa. Nonetheless, I was thrilled to see that they are branching out to their very own Fashion For Your Home line. I found these pictures on nitrolicious. Boy, I am having a hard time being content where I'm at these days...

Oh Deer! (Part 1)

For Christmas my boss drew my name for our annual secret Santa game. Apparently, I'd been talking about wanting deer antlers and he's a hunter. So, it was perfectly natural to get a deer skull as a Christmas present from him...a little awkward for the rest of my co-workers, but awesome for me!

I've been working on it on and off for the last few weeks and I think I'm finally happy with it.

It's CHRISTMAS!!

Here is our tree - it's a little pathetic, because it's plastic. I like to think of it as being green. Notice the blueprint wrapping paper - also a green effort.

My darling husband, Jacob, and I woke up early today to open presents and then made Christmas dinner together. It looks fancy, but I have to admit that we didn't stuff the Cornish Game Hens ourselves-they came that way from the store. It was delicious! And look at the tiny wishbones!

Jacob is so kind to support my love for crafts/art and got me a block printing press and an adjustable dress form - I can't wait to sew my own clothes. Or at least attempt to...
